The Campaign Bed
Campaign-style oak bed with steel joints. The Campaign Bed draws inspiration from the travelling furniture of 19th-century expeditions—pieces designed to be disassembled, transported across deserts, and swiftly reassembled at destination. Its raised height echoes the traditional field beds used in colonial India, elevated to keep snakes at bay. The ebonised oak frame is held together with brass, burnished or nickel-plated steel brackets.
"The design was inspired by the campaign beds of a bygone era, when furniture would be moved from camp to camp in a caravan of camels to be reassembled promptly and placed in situ. A hint of exotic travel is still associated with these pieces." Architect Count Benedict Bolza
